Leading East Anglia based "nearly new" car supermarket Hammond Cars has announced Make-A Wish® UK as its 2017 Charity of the Year.
Make-A Wish UK was established in 1986 to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of seriously ill children and young people in the UK. Whether it's starring in their own films, walking with dinosaurs, going on an amazing holiday, meeting a celebrity hero, or having a life-changing bedroom makeover; their wishes are varied, personal and, most importantly, magical and transformational. Since they were formed, they have granted over 10,000 wishes.
Hammond Cars MD, Mark Skoyles said "We are delighted to have chosen Make-A-Wish UK as our 2017 Charity of the Year. They do some really amazing work and we are proud that we will be supporting them throughout the coming year."
Make-A-Wish UK Regional Fundraising Manager, Shaun Campbell said "We are absolutely thrilled to have the support from Hammond Cars, staff and customers during 2017. We rely heavily on the support of reputable local businesses and we are excited to work with Hammond Cars to make sure we can support more children by granting life-changing wishes".
Established in 1974, Hammond Cars has rapidly expanded to become a leading car supermarket, providing nearly new cars at the lowest prices in the UK. From its retail sites in Great Yarmouth and Ipswich, they have a combined stock of over 300 cars and are looking to expand throughout East Anglia.
Mark commented "One of Hammond Cars' strengths is our no-pressure, customer focussed approach to car buying combined with the lowest prices in the UK. Our customers know they can test drive the car on their own, decide how they want to purchase it and can drive it away on the same day. All of this is why we continue to get 5 Star ratings on Autotrader and our customers come back to us again and again.
"Throughout 2017, we will be looking to work with Make-A-Wish UK and holding various events, as well as encouraging our staff to support them as part of their own fundraising. It is an exciting time for Hammond Cars and we look forward to supporting the charity next year. "
This years Run Norwich was a hot one but that didn't stop our Hammond Cars athletes from completing the course in sensational form. Having trained tirelessly throughout the summer in preparation of the 10k (6.2m) run through the idyllic Norfolk capital, the team were in fine shape (mostly) and ready to take on the blistering heat in a battle for bragging rights amongst the team. This year's victor was David Kemp who came home in 58.02 (mins), well done David!
Our athletes include Mark Skoyles (MD), Jonny Moore (Accounts Manager), Neil Wells & Calvin Daines (Prep Team), David Kemp (HR Manager), Beth Hurst (Accounts) and Peter Trigg-Dudley (Area Manager).
It's still not too late to help us reach our fundraising goal for the brilliant Make-A-Wish Foundation. Please visit our JustGiving fundraising page if you wish to donate to this fantastic charity.
